A sneak peak into my world, one instagram at a time ...
- EFEntrepreneur FirstEF Demo DayOn the 17th of March I pitched at the Entrepreneur First demo day, in front of 150 investors at Microsoft HQ in London. It was an exhilarating experience and was a chance to showcase what I had been working on over the course of the programme. This is a video of my demo day presentation (unfortunately you cannot see the slides I refer to in the video). You can see the other pitches hereBuckingham PalaceIn December 2013, I was invited to Buckingham Palace for an evening hosted by the Duke of York. The event provided a unique opportunity to meet with eminent entrepreneurs and take a sneak peak into the palace! Here is the BBC's account of the event.No.10 Round TableIt is the UK government's aim to make London the start-up centre of Europe. I was invited along with other entrepreneurs to a round table discussion hosted at No.10. The discussion was focused around ways of supporting young entrepreneurs in London from a financial perspective, but also more fundamentally about stimulating entrepreneurial activity at a younger age in schools and at university.EF & NokiaDuring the summer we had an opportunity to work closely with Nokia on the launch of a new application designed to help find jobs, on top of its Joblens platform.Elective - Marketplace for Medical TourismElective is a project I started on Entrepreneur First. The basic premise was to build an online marketplace for medical tourism.
Private healthcare costs have been spiralling out of control, a dental implant treatment can cost as much as £30,000, a huge out of pocket expense. Yet the same procedure may be available upto 70% less in another country, as I witnessed during my Asia trip.
Regardless of the cost savings however, it is virtually impossible to distinguish between providers unless you know somebody who can provide a strong personal recommendation.
The internet has enabled transparency in so many sectors, yet when it comes to healthcare, consumers lack power and choice, this is a huge problem.
The idea behind Elective therefore is to facilitate trust and transparency in a globally fragmented marketplace, making it easy to find, compare and book affordable surgeries that patient's can trust, starting with dentistry.
